RAJIV BAJAJ CONFIRMS THAT THE ALL NEW 2012 BAJAJ PULSAR WILL BE UNVEILED 30TH JANUARY, 2012!

Days after we carried the story asking whether the 30th January, 2012 will see the unveiling of the all new 2012 Bajaj Pulsar, we got our answer when Rajiv Bajaj officially confirmed that the all new 2012 Pulsar will be unveiled on the 3oth of January, 2012 in Mumbai. That said, confusion still reigns supreme on whether the event at Mumbai would be an unveiling or the actual launch of the 2012 Pulsar, where the price and other specifics will be announced. Considering that heavily camouflaged test mules sre still doing the trial runs in and around Pune, we’re leaning on an unveil rather than a launch on the 30th of January.

NEW BAJAJ PULSAR COMING IN SEPTEMBER 2011?

Here’s a single line, but one that could have a lot of implications in the performance motorcycling segment of the Indian motorcycle market. Bajaj Auto MD, Mr Rajiv Bajaj has remarked that the Bajaj Pulsar series of motorcycles are due to get an upgrade in September, and we’re wondering what it could be. Considering the fact that the Bajaj Pulsar 150 and 180 have both got facelifts quite recently, the big story emerging could be that of the top of the line Bajaj Pulsar getting it’s share of goodies from Bajaj Auto. On the back of Bajaj upping it’s production capacity to 5 million units per year, come October, the new Pulsar 220 is expected to help Bajaj retain the strong momentum with which sales have been growing all through this year. Currently the big point of speculation is what Bajaj will launch shortly to take over the reins as the flagship Pulsar. Currently, there are two strains of thought surrounding the new Pulsar, which is expected to be a major departure from the current models.

Bajaj Pulsar 250 RenderWhether it would be a 200cc engine derived from KTM, that could come with advanced engine technology like 4 valves, DOHC and liquid cooling or whether a 250cc engine would make it to the Pulsar range, remain questions that the coming days could throw light upon. Also, the styling of the flagship Pulsar could also see a major revamp to bring it up to date as the Pulsar, despite seeing various facelifts over the years has started to look slightly dated.Whatever may be the case, this line from Rajiv Bajaj-> “An upgrade is due by September which is expected to keep the sales momentum going” has definitely whetted our appetites for a new flagship Pulsar as early as September, this year. Do watch this space as we try as we keep a close eye on this story which promises to get a lot more exciting in the coming days.
