Honda is turning up the heat in India big time and as many as 7 new or refreshed products have been announced by Honda 2 Wheelers for the Indian market in 2012. Of these 7 products, two products are CBU imports. The 2012 Honda CBR1000RR sportsbike and the Honda VT1300CX cruiser are two motorcycles that were unveiled at the Honda pavilion in Pragati Maidan t the 2012 Auto Expo a while ago.
While prices of these motorcycles are yet to be announced, we have with us details of these motorcycles as they have already been doing duty in the international markets. The 2012 Honda CBR1000RR, a model whose previous versions Honda has already been selling in India comes with a host of new features in its latest iteration. Called the 20th Anniversary Special edition commemorating the CBR’s 20 years of eventful existence, here’s what the CBR1000RR brings to the equation.
* Sharper styling with new body work for better aerodynamics
* Tweaked fuel injection for better low end throttle response
* Retuned and reworked front and rear suspension for added stability
* New 12 spoke alloy wheels
* Lap timer
* Gear position indicator
* 4 display modes on the instrumentation console for high visibility all light conditions
2012 Honda Fury VT1300CX Cruiser
Coming to the Honda Fury (VT1300CX )cruiser, this motorcycle marks Honda’s first foray into the cruiser segment in India. The V-twin engine of the motorcycle is a 1,312cc four stroke liquid cooled unit with fuel injection to boot. This motorcycle also has a single pin crankshaft and dual balancer shaft to reduce vibes that a V-Twin typically generates. The Fury weighs over 300 Kilograms and uses a shaft drive. The peak power that the 1,312cc engine produces is 57 Bhp while peak torque is 107 Nm. Pricing and availability to be announced soon by Honda.
