Land Rover has been facing supply issues with the components for the Evoque SUV. Deliveries of the Range Rover Evoque are being postponed for at least two months. The car maker is facing trouble acquiring certain parts that go in to the new baby Range Rover. The SUV has been an immense success for Land Rover and now the company is having to deal with long waiting periods for the popular crossover SUV.
Now, Land Rover is all set to launch the new Range Rover Evoque in India. The launch is scheduled to happen on November 4th as per the word received from the car maker. Land Rover has already received bookings from its Indian customers and cars have already been allotted. This means, first 50 customers from India will get their Evoques on time. The rest I’m afraid, will have to wait for a while. The Evoque will come to India as a completely built unit (CBU) and hence there is fair chance that the deliveries of the cars that haven’t been allotted yet might face delays.
There have reports of supply delays with components like the xenon headlamps and the panoramic sunroof. The instant popularity of the SUV has attracted so many bookings that now delivery delays could stretch to even five-six months. Let us hope Land Rover addresses the issue as quickly as possible as Indians back home wouldn’t have to wait for their Evoques for too long. But, even with the supply delays resolved, Land Rover could still be struggling to meet with growing demand for the car. Hence, expect at least a two month delay to receive the keys of the new baby Rangy.
