Lamborghini, the Italian supercar maker renowned for its flamboyant speed machines with the raging bull logo has launched its latest offering in India. The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 will be available for the millionaires of the sub-continent at a massive Rs. 3.69 Crore! Just recently, Ferrari launched their four-seat supercar- Ferrari FF in the country. If the FF is what you want then you are in for a saving of at least Rs 27 lakh.
But, then the Lambo is just so much more. Both cars get four-wheel drive but where the FF tops out at 208 mph (335 kph) the Aventador can accelerate up to 217 mph (350 kph). Having said that, if you want a supercar for your family, then the Ferrari FF would be the obvious choice. Now, lets get back to the Lamborghini, shall we? The Aventador is Lamborghini’s replacement for the Murcielago. The LP700-4 is built around an innovative carbon fibre monocoque.

The mid-mounted 6.5 litre V12 pumps out 700 rampaging horsepower @ 8250 rpm and 690 Nm @5500 rpm. 100 kph comes up in just 2.9 seconds and flat out you will be way past the Ferrari’s top speed. Lamborghini’s new ISR transmission shifts seamlessly in jut 50 milliseconds and can be operated via paddles behind the steering wheel. The interior of the car has been redesigned and features a starter button straight out of Top Gun.

Some of the switch gear does look a bit Audi-ish since Lamborghini is now owned by the German car maker. That said, the interior is finished in high-quality leather while the exterior is a head-turning metal origami of precision German engineering and Italian craftsmanship. You get LEDs on both ends with a menacing set of lights upfront. The arrow shaped tail lights first seen on the Reventon also make it on to the Aventador. Doors open in classic Lamborghini style (scissor doors). Although, getting in and out of the car would make you look like a show-off but then, its just something that makes the car special.
