NISSAN SUNNY’S TEASER WEBSITE GOES ONLINE

As we all know, Nissan has formally unveiled the Nissan Sunny in India. The car was revealed to the media at an event earlier in the year. Nissan was also expected to reveal the official name adopted for the new mid-sized sedan. Nissan however, have stuck with ‘Sunny’ as the name for the new car. Now, the Japanese automaker has launched a teaser website ahead of the launch of the car which is expected within the next couple of months.

“Its not just a car” is what the tag line reads. Nissan is surely trying to build the buzz around the new product but we don’t really understand the point of a teaser website when they have already showcased the car. Nissan has also revealed the specifications of the new Nissan Sunny. The Nissan Sunny will be placed in the mid-size segment of the market, taking on rival products like the Maruti Suzuki SX4, Ford Fiesta and the Hyundai Verna.

Nissan Sunny Sedan
The new Sunny is based on the same platform as the Micra hatchback. The exterior styling also has a few cues which have been taken over from Nissan Micra. The defining edge on the rear and front quarter are a couple of design details seen first on the Micra hatch. Under the hood, will go either a petrol or diesel engine. The petrol engine that will be on offer will be a 1.6 litre unit while a 1.5 litre DCi oil burner is expected to be the more popular of the two.

Nissan has announced the pricing or the trim options for the Nissan Sunny but, we think the Sunny could be priced around 7 lakh rupees. Pricing will very important as a high priced product in this ultra competitive segment of the market could ruin any chances of success for the Nissan Sunny.
