BMW ACCEPTING PRE-ORDERS FOR ALL NEW BMW X3 SUV

BMW India will launch the brand new BMW X3 SUV on the 25th of August. Interested buyers can now place their orders with BMW for the new BMW X3 through their website. The new BMW X3 replaces he current model and could be priced upwards of Rs 40 lakh ex-showroom. To be frank, the old BMW X3 was all but a looker. Being an SUV, it couldn’t cope with rough terrain making it a soft-roader.

With the new X3, BMW have improved greatly on the design front. The new SUV now gets fog lamps integrated in to the front bumpers which we first saw on the BMW X1 crossover. The front fascia is more upright with the twin-kidney grille flanked on either side by rather plain jane head lamp design. The usual corona lights though do give it a distinct BMW look. BMW call the new X3, a Sports Activity Vehicle.

Now BMW is complete without a tinge of sportiness added to the handling department. Same is the case with the new BMW X3. BMW seem to have given the new X3 the same dose of sportiness they gave the BMW X1 which we loved for its handling and poise. Inside, you get a driver oriented dashboard which is quite common on cars these days along with an 8.8 inch screen and BMW’s patent iDrive system. The steering wheel is similar to the one we saw on the X1 sDrive30d.

Coming to the engines, the new BMW X3 will be available with two diesel engines. The BMW X3 xDrive20d will get an in-line four cylinder diesel with 184 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. The top-of-the-line X3 xDrive30d will get a six-cylinder powerplant with 258 horsepower. Both variants will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The new BMW X3 will also feature BMW EfficientDynamics which uses different modern technologies to reduce fuel consumption as well as emissions.

The new aerodynamic design accounts for better fuel economy which is also boosted by the eight speed automatic transmission which is tuned for the best performance without compromising on fuel consumption. Also, brake energy regeneration helps store energy released during braking which is used in conjunction with the diesel engine to give extra boost without using any fuel. Stay tuned for the complete launch report.
