Earlier today, Triumph India launched 7 motorcycles at the 2012 Auto Expo. Killer pricing is the high point of the Triumph motorcycle launch, a move that could send shivers up the spines of competition even as motorcycle enthusiasts across the country rejoice the plethora of affordable choices the Indian market is playing host to.
Tomorrow, yet another low cost motorcycle tailor made for the emerging markets, the Duacti Monster 795 will be unveiled. But that is tomorrow. For now, here are the prices of the 7 Triumph motorcycles along with a few juicy bits about Triumph’s plans for India.
Triumph Motorcycles’ ex-showroom Delhi prices in India:
Triumph Bonneville- Rs 5.5 lakh
Triumph Street Triple- Rs 5.75 lakh
Triumph Daytona 675- Rs 7 lakh
Triumph Speed Triple- Rs 8 lakh
Triumph Tiger 800XC- Rs 11.4 lakh
Triumph Storm- Rs 17 lakh
Triumph Rocket III- Rs 22 lakh
2012 Triumph Bonneville Range
From the prices, it seems that Triumph is here to stay with India being a key market for the legendary British motorcycling brand. Triumph will be able to manage such prices due to at least four of its motorcycles being assembled in India through CKD kits. While a timeline for setting up the Triumph assembly plant is not known at the moment, plans definitely exist for an assembly unit in India. Middle of 2012 is when you’ll be able to lay your hands on these Triumph motorcycles, the same time period by which Triumph hopes to set up dealerships and after sales service centers.
