Days after we carried the story asking whether the 30th January, 2012 will see the unveiling of the all new 2012 Bajaj Pulsar, we got our answer when Rajiv Bajaj officially confirmed that the all new 2012 Pulsar will be unveiled on the 3oth of January, 2012 in Mumbai. That said, confusion still reigns supreme on whether the event at Mumbai would be an unveiling or the actual launch of the 2012 Pulsar, where the price and other specifics will be announced. Considering that heavily camouflaged test mules sre still doing the trial runs in and around Pune, we’re leaning on an unveil rather than a launch on the 30th of January.
The 2012 Bajaj Pulsar shares plenty of stuff with the just-launched KTM Duke 200 and is expected to be a huge step up from the existing versions. The 2012 Pulsar will mark a full decade of the super successful reign of this Indian premium motorcycle brand, which has only grown from strength to strength. Given that the KTM Duke 200 has been launched at under INR 1.2 Lakhs, you can only expect the 2012 Pulsar, which will be positioned well under the Duke, to be much more competitively priced. Rajiv Bajaj has repeatedly emphasized on the all new Pulsar being very important for Bajaj as he expects major growth to come from the all new Pulsar range.

From the first clear spyshots of the motorcycle, which IndianCarsBikes carried before anyone else, we know a few things about what to expect from the 2012 Bajaj Pulsar. The motorcycle will feature liquid cooling and a four valve head. The rear suspension will now be a gas filled monoshock unit along with an under body exhaust, just like the KTM Duke. Instrumentation also will see a change although the front forks will be conventional double downtubes. Also, the new 2012 Pulsar is expected to take plenty of styling cues from the Pulsar 123 LS.
