Here is the first image of the Maruti HA-Alpha Compact SUV, marking Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the fledgling yet rapidly growing segment of cars. While what you’re seeing is still a concept, this car will see production reality in a while, just like the Ertiga did after being shown as a concept at the last Auto Expo. The Ha-Alpha is no crossover but rather an SUV that will be at home both on the road and off it. Its compact dimensions means that the SUV could be priced very competitively.
While the HA-Alpha is still in concept form, here are its dimensions, which largely are expected to be unchanged. The HA-Alpha measures 4 meters long, 1.9 meters wide, 1.6 meters tall and has a wheelbase of 2.9 meters. The Ha-Alpha in production guise is expected to add two more doors to be a five door SUV than a three door SUV that it currently is in concept form. Also, expect a different name for the HA-Alpha when it hits production.
The concept SUV runs on 19 inchers currently and the mammoth wheels are expected to make way for a smaller 16 inchers when production gets underway. Details about the engines are unavailable although the 4 meter length indicates that a 1.2 liter petrol and 1.3 liter diesel will be the engine options of choice for the Maruti HA-Alpha Compact SUV. The HA-Alpha compact SUV will be a five seater.
The price range of the HA-Alpha remains undisclosed for the moment although we’re trying to find out where exactly this SUV will be positioned at. Watch this space!
