Come January 2012, Toyota Kirloskar Motors will launch the facelifted version of the best selling Innova MPV in the Indian market. The facelifted model appears to more of a visual exercise than a mechanical one, and may be termed as a mid career makeover for this hugely successful MPV that looks like a van but drives like a car. Here are a rash of images in which almost every visual detail of the new Innova can be seen.
While we’ve covered the facelifted aspects of the 2012 Innova comprehensively in multiple stories, we’ll take you through a quick round up of what the 2012 Innova has to offer. A new front end replete with a new chrome grille, new headlamps and bumper give the Innova a more van like appearance than ever before. And this is something that prospective Innova buyers will either love or hate. Even so, the 2012 Innova looks quite different from the existing version.
The changes continue to the rear end of the 2012 Innova, where the MPV gets new tail lamps and a more prominent chrome garnish proudly proclaiming the Innova moniker. The choice of diesel and petrol engines though will be retained. The 102 Bhp, 2.5 liter D-4D common rail, turbocharged and intercooled diesel engine and the 140 Bhp, VVT-i 2 liter petrol engine will continue to do duty in 2012 Innova MPV.
The interiors on the 2012 Innova is another aspect that has seen a mild facelift. The Innova’s interiors were of high quality to begin with and with the latest refresh, the interiors seem to have gone up a notch higher. Expect a bump in price of the Innova when the facelifted model bows in. Also, the waiting period of the Innova could go down considerably from the current 4 month long wait, as Toyota is adding more capacity to its Bidadi plant, off Bangalore.
