The first images of the new Toyota Land Cruiser SUV have leaked on to the internet. The new SUV boasts a body kit with a much lower front bumper which could be an optional extra. The USP of the Toyota Land Cruiser has been its ability to take on any kind of terrain and adding a low slung body kit will only ruin this. Hence we suspect this could be an option for those what aren’t really fond of venturing into the hedge to explore the limits of grip.
That said the mid-life facelift seems to work well given the redesigned head lights which now feature LED day time running lights and Xenon lamps. The front bumper as I mentioned before is lower and wider which further enhances the presence of the vehicle. Inside, you get a new instrument cluster and a new multi-functional steering wheel. The dual-tone interior and fake wooden trim does add a bit of luxurious feel to the cabin. Apart from the front, the rear bumper has also been redesigned.
A step has been added to the side which does have an affect on the overall ground clearance of the vehicle, but then again this package would be optional. In India, we do get the full-blown V8 powered off-roader. The 4.5 litre V8 diesel engine churns out 281 bhp @ 3600 rpm and a massive 650 Nm of torque @1600-2800 rpm. The power goes to all four wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission. Now, the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 with the 4500 cc V8 diesel engine costs Rs 87 lakh in India. The cost of the facelift is expected to be unchanged however those opting for the bodykit and other extras will have to shell out a bit more.
