Jaguar has launched the facelifted version of their premium offering, XF sedan in India. The new Jaguar XF has got a mid-life makeover and was already being offered in other markets. Now, the new car will also be available in India. The changes to the car are basically cosmetic both on the exterior as well as on the interior. The front end is where much of the change is evident. The headlights now resemble that of the ones on the flagship XJ saloon. The grille in more wider compared to the old model while the front bumper has been redesigned to go with the updated styling.
Towards the rear, the tail light design is again tweaked. Under the hood though, things remain as before. The new Jaguar XF is available with a 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine that puts out 275 PS of maximum power and 600 torques which allows the big luxury saloon to accelerate from 0-100 kph in under 6 sec. For serious drivers, Jaguar will also provide the option of a V8 petrol engine. The 5.0 litre V8 pumps out a massive 385 PS of power and 515 Nm or torque. 0-100 kph dash in this sedan will be over in just 5.5 sec. Still, Jaguar won’t offer the double espresso 5.5 litre V8 Supercharged in India.
In fact, the car maker is planning to launch a much frugal 2.2 litre diesel engine soon. We asked Jaguar India officials about the possible launch date but, they could give us a clear timeline. So would have wait for some news leak out of JLR HQ before we could convey any sort of solid information. That said, the new Jaguar XF is available at a JLR showroom near you for a base price of Rs 48.37 lakh ex-showroom for the 3.0 litre V6, Rs 59.65 lakh for the 5.0 litre V8 petrol and close to Rs 75 lakh for the supercharged version which JLR will import it on order.
