Now that the car been finally revealed, Honda has released official videos of all three models of the 2012 Honda CR-V. Although the footage lacks audio which does spoil the experience a bit however it clearly shows us how flexible the interior of the new SUV is. The larger proportions of the car have also helped liberate more space inside the crossover. The luggage space has greatly improved and the 60/40 split rear seats makes the car even more practical. Having said that, the seats seem big and comfy with all the leather and stuff.
The dashboard too is well laid out. You do get the idea that the car has been designed keeping American customers in mind. The dashboard isn’t too fiddly with only the essential controls. The satellite navigation screen takes the center position flanked by air-con vents. The top of the center console too gets a LCD display which feeds-in all the crucial information. The instrument cluster has also been redesigned with a big circular dial in the center. The steering wheel is also new and features multi-functional controls.
The 2012 Honda CR-V gets a 2.4 litre i-VTEC petrol engine with 184 bhp and 163 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a five -speed automatic gearbox and is available in both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive versions. The new generation CR-V also has a intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) with Pandora internet radio or SMS text reading functions.
