SSANGYONG TO UNVEIL CONCEPT XUV 1 AT FRANKFURT

Ssangyong will soon take its place among other SUV brands in India when Mahindra, the parent company of the Korean automaker will launch the Korando C. The test mule of the SUV was spotted a few weeks back as the development of the product carriers one ahead of the launch. Meanwhile, it is not just India that the company has on its agenda. The Korean automaker has had its presence Europe for a quite a while and the company is all set to unveil a new concept SUV at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

The new SUV dubbed, Concept XUV1 is a brand new concept of which the company has released a teaser image. It is hard to see the design details but, the concept does bear a stark resemblance with the Range Rover Evoque. The floating roof line is one such give-away. The roof also tends to gently slope towards the back rendering the concept a dynamic profile. The new concept also seems to integrate LED day time running lights which slowly becoming a ‘must have’ on modern cars.

What is more unlike the Range Rover Evoque though, is the seating. The Concept XUV1 (Excellent User Interface Vehicle 1) offers a very flexible seating configuration. The innovative interior design introduces new 1+1+2 or 1+3 seating layouts, challenging conventional cabin design and highlighting the flexibility available from SsangYong’s latest platform technology. Ssangyong describes it as premium crossover utility vehicle which will be placed in the B-segment.

You can also expect modern gadgets with touch screens and blueteeth inside the car also, coach style doors allow for easy access. Of course, all this stuff won’t necessarily make it into the production model but, it does showcase what a car company is capable of. Thus, the new Concept XUV1 is Korea’s contender to take on the modern mini-crossover concepts that have gained popularity lately.
