RANGE ROVER EVOQUE TO BE LAUNCHED IN INDIA BY END-2011?

Land Rover has had its presence in India for a while now. The premium car brand, known across the world for its mud pluggers has its full portfolio on offer here in India. Land Rover offers its Indian customers everything from the Freelander2 to the Range Rover. Recently, there has been a new addition to the Land Rover family. The Range Rover Evoque is a crossover that is both futuristic to look at and packs all the features that a Range Rover is known for.

According to our friends at MotorBeam, the Range Rover Evoque or the baby Range Rover will be here by the end of this year. Tata Motors who own Land Rover will launch the crossover in India by the end of 2011. The Range Rover Evoque has been successful across the globe thanks to its modern design. Since, we are on the subject of design, Victoria Beckham has had a lions share in the design process of the Evoque.

2011 Range Rover EvoqueMrs. Beckham was consulted by the designers who were working on the Evoque and what has resulted is a gorgeous looking SUV which incorporates classic Range Rover bits like the floating roof-line, the grille and the steeply raked rear profile. The Evoque is a beautiful piece of design, no doubt and according to some reports the pricing could be equally attractive. The Range Rover Evoque could be priced between Rs 30-40 lakh.
The Evoque comes in three-door and five-door variants and of course, the five-door version will be coming to India. Under the hood will go a 2.2 litre diesel engine, turbocharged to produce either 150 PS or 190 PS. The Evoque range also offers a petrol engine which highly unlikely to come to India for obvious reasons. Having said that, Land Rover has already started assembling cars in India which will benefit the Evoque when comes to pricing it competitively.
