NEW MARUTI SUZUKI SWIFT DIESEL DELIVERIES BEGIN WITH A 4 MONTH WAITING PERIOD!

Even as the new Maruti Suzuki Swift received a whopping 50,000 bookings even before its price was announced, a crucial fact was revealed during the launch of the super popular hatchback in India. Out of the 50,000 bookings Maruti Suzuki has received for the Maruti Swift, around 80% of the bookings were for the diesel model.

Even after the launch, plenty of prospective new Swift owners have gone in for the diesel Swift and hence Maruti is having a tough time meeting the huge demand for the new Swift Diesel. Not surprisingly, waiting periods for the new Swift Diesel have touched a yawn inducing four months at many dealerships.

While this situation will ease to a certain extent in the coming few months when Maruti diverts all of the Swift’s export production from Hungary to India, folks booking the new Swift Diesel now have no option but to endure the long waiting period. On the other hand, the new Swift Petrol too is commanding a waiting period of 2-3 months, depending on the variant even though the demand is quite less compared to that of the diesel engined model.

One grouse many prospective new Maruti Swift Diesel buyers seem to be having is the fact that Maruti does not offer ABS even as an option on the Swift VDi. This means that a Swift Diesel buyer has to fork out an extra 80 Thousand rupees for the ZDi model, which features both ABS and Airbags. So, this is one major limitation that new Swift Diesel owners will have to face. This inconvenience aside, the new Maruti Swift has received a tremendous response so far at the hustings and looks poised to take the Swift brand to greater heights.
